Aircon regas (also known as aircon recharging), is the process of replacing or topping up the refrigerant gas in your vehicle’s air conditioning system. The R134a / R1234yf refrigerant can become depleted over time, leading to reduced cooling performance.
Here at Rommies Auto Tuning, we don’t just regas (recharge) your vehicle’s air-conditioning system, but we like to think of it as a “full aircon service”.
1.
Refrigerant Removal
The old refrigerant (aircon gas) is extracted from the system.
2.
System Vacuuming
The system is vacuumed to remove moisture, old oil and ensure there are no leaks.
3.
Air conditioning compressor oil
When the old oil is extracted from the air conditioning compressor, fresh, high-quality oil is added to ensure optimal performance and longevity.
4.
UV Dye
Adding dye into the AC system is a proven method for precise aircon leak detection. This UV AC Dye is visible under UV light, circulates with the refrigerant. At any point of leakage, the dye becomes visible, accurately indicating where repairs are needed.
5.
Refrigerant Replenishment
The air conditioning system is recharged with the correct amount of new refrigerant (R134a or R1234yf) as per manufacturer’s specification.
