EGR Removal / EGR Delete / EGR Problems

There are two aspects to the EGR Removal (Exhaust Gas Recirculation) service.

First the EGR Valve is blanked preventing any exhaust gasses from passing through the valve and entering the intake system (EGR blanking is only required when the valves cannot fully close due to carbon build up or motor failure).

Secondly, the ECU is Remapped (Reprogrammed) and the EGR (Exhaust Gas Recirculation) functions are removed from the ECU software, or the valve is electronically programmed to always remain closed. This is the most important aspect of the service, and it is vital that it’s done correctly. We can also remap the vehicle for better performance and fuel efficiency at the same time.

Why is the EGR system required?

Stringent emission targets have forced vehicle manufacturers to develop new ways of improving the emissions of their vehicles. One example of this is the Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) system. This EGR system can cause problems, thus EGR Removal is recommended.

EGR problems

EGR Removal is recommended to avoid expensive repair bills.  By recirculating the exhaust gasses back to the combustion chamber, this helps lower the NOx (Nitrogen Oxide) emissions and reduce the overall combustion temperature. This process can also prevent the vehicle from running smoothly. Failure often occurs when the dirty exhaust gasses clog up the valve causing it to stick in the open position. When this happens, the engine is starved of oxygen and becomes sluggish and inefficient (In some cases, the vehicle can become almost undriveable). The EGR valves can also fail electronically when the internal motor or position sensors fail.

EGR Delete Benefits

Due to the increasing number of issues related to the EGR system, many consumers are now opting for a full EGR bypass or EGR removal service. This eliminates the need for expensive repairs and helps minimise vehicle reliability issues.

Our Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) removal service has the following benefits:

Please note: Our EGR (Exhaust Gas Recirculation) delete service is only used for off-road use. It is not suitable for use on the road and could result in prosecution. It is your responsibility to declare the modification to the relevant authorities.
